A return to Kos following great feedback!
We are very pleased to once again be able to offer an absolutely
brilliant watersports holiday with Mark Warner. Following some great
feedback we are returning to Lakitira Beach Hotel, their club on the
superb Greek Island of Kos and while the prices for 2010 are not yet
published we are sure we have once again managed to secure a fantastic
deal!

One of the most captivating islands in the Aegean Sea, Kos is a truly
delightful holiday destination. Bathed in sunlight almost all year round
it boasts smooth, clean sandy beaches and crystal clear waters. Just 25
minutes drive from the airport, Lakitira is a lively friendly resort on
the scenic south coast of Kos. You can see the neighboring islands of
Nissyros and Kalymnos from the resort's long sandy beach and the lively
town of Kardemena is just a short taxi ride along the coast. Spread over
4 acres of lush gardens and with two separate beach areas, Lakitira
offers a lot of space and a great variety of facilities.
Mark Warner Beach Resorts are inclusive of many features, making them
excellent value for money. Thus included in the price of your holiday:
flights, transfers, accommodation, meals (breakfast, dinner) and

There is an on site PADI dive school offering a range of courses for
beginner through to advanced divers. If you are keen to learn and want
to explore under the water, but unsure if diving is for you, then why
not try the free "try" dive in the pool under the supervision of one of
the PADI instructors. Here you can learn all about the equipment and get
a feel for wearing it, and learn breathing techniques under water.
PADI Discover scuba - Try a free trial dive in the swimming pool or
shallow sea .
PADI Introduction Course - Covering the theory of diving and learning
about the equipment used, this will be followed by a dive in open water.
Your instructor will be by your side at all times. If you wish to
progress your diving further, completion of this course will count
towards the PADI Open Water Dive Course qualification. Minimum age: 10
years. Cost £50-£70 depending on resort.
PADI Open water dive course - Further theory and diving skills are
developed in the pool. When your instructor is confident that you're
ready, you'll have 4 training dives in open water. You'll be awarded
with a certificate of achievement. Minimum age: 10 years. Cost £200-£315
depending on resort.
PADI Advanced open water dive course - Suitable for qualified open water
divers, this course enables you to improve your diving skills and
progress to a qualified advanced diver. A choice of adventure dives are
taken on this course, these include deep dives, navigation or night
dives. Minimum age: 12 years. Cost £135-£225 depending on resort.
Safety First
Your safety is important so if you would like to scuba dive, you'll
need to complete a medical history form. You may also need a physical
check up. If you're over 45 years of age or have a previous medical
condition, please bring a Doctor's certificate confirming that you're
fit to dive. Whether you can or cannot dive, will be entirely at the
discretion of your qualified instructor whose main concern, at all
times, is for your safety.

More cultural is Kos Town - the birthplace of Hippocrates. Alternatively

NB – this is a large resort and is not exclusive to Spice. In addition,
Lakitira Beach Resort is geared up for the enjoyment of the water-sports
and land activities available at the resort and whilst there are bars on
site it is not a party resort; however, if required this element of your
holiday can easily be accommodated in the nearby resort of Kardemena.

Trip Coordinator – as usual there will be a Spice coordinator on
this holiday, however their role is slightly different on this trip to
other holidays you may have enjoyed with Spice. On such a large, resort
based holiday, where almost everything is included the coordinators role
is primarily as a representative of Spice UK to liaise with the Mark
Warner resort management ensuring the smooth operation of the holiday
and also to assist members in time of need such as medical attention,
etc. On this particular trip it is not the role of the coordinator to
arrange group activities, nights out and social gatherings.
